SmartPay is a "game changer"
"Parents love the convenience of SmartPay, it is a real time saver!"
- Coach Tony D.
(Mid-Michigan Soccer League)
SmartPay was designed from the ground up to make it easy to collect for group & team expenses.
Collecting a single payment from one person is OK, but collecting money and additional information from groups and teams is hard.
Paper money was invented in the the 1st millenium A.D., but it wasn't designed for your group and team payments, so it's probably time for something better.
You can just use your Facebook, AOL, eteamz or CircleUp account to login and send SmartPay requests. (It's free to get any one of these if you don't have one.)
No other login options, you must login to PayPal to send money requests.
Log in? "Loging in" consists of you walking around the next group or team meeting or event with a clipboard and an envelope.
You can easily link to or add contacts from Outlook, Facebook, eteamz, AOL, AIM, Yahoo! IM and more.
You must copy and paste each email address which will only be used to send PayPal requests, nothing else.
Get used to carrying around clipboards, envelopes and checklists and just don't lose them or let the dog near them.
All of your linked and added group addresses are addressable with one click!
You must select each individual contact one at a time. Your hands will get tired.
Unless you think it's "one click" to shout, "Hey everyone, please pay me!" at a group meeting or event.
Your leagues and teams use SmartPay right within your eteamz site(s)! Sign on only once and contacts and rosters are automatically available!
League & team members will have to go back and forth to the PayPal site. Need to login and log out from both places and copy and paste contact info.
Dirty cash and checks stuffed into white envelopes will never meet your lovely eteamz sites.
You can have multiple payment amounts for different package options, donation amounts, uniform sizes, etc.
Not without getting a Merchant Account, creating a "shopping cart", posting your "store" to a website and then emailing around links to your members.
But then you have to manually keep track of which payments go with each item or selection. Don't mix it up and give someone the wrong uniform size!
SmartPay comes fully integrated with the all the easy, powerful and FREE features of SmartMessage Center -- providing robust email, IM and social network messaging and reporting for teams and groups. No extra charge!
The addresses and messages you send via PayPal will only exist for the purposes of collecting money. So, you'll need to maintain multiple address books and message tracking in other programs and web sites.
You can try to use email (the 30 year old technology that hasn't changed much in 30 years), but get ready for the endless and mind-numbing "reply to all" messages and wasted time copying and pasting.
All responses, useful charts and graphs and payment tracking is available in one central location. The person collecting money can choose to share responses and reports with the group. Everyone gets emailed receipts.
Additional information cannot be reported on (such as who is coming to a group dinner) and results cannot be easily shared.
Not unless you pass around your checklists and clipboards to the rest of the team every day.
Keep track of SmartPay payments AND everyone who promised to send you a check all in one place!
Nope, only tracks the PayPal payments.
Back to the clipboard and white envelope.
SmartPay is designed for teams and, as the collector, you'll get the money you requested and your team members pay the fees.
You'll pay fees to collect money using PayPal and those fees come out of the money you've collected. Since PayPal is not specifically designed for teams and groups, the value added is low.
Multiply the value of your time by the hours you'll spend harrassing group members, managing checklists, searching for lost envelopes & waiting for the "check in the mail." Also, losing money is pretty expensive.
